What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing, alleviate pain and promote health. This is done by inserting very fine, hair-thin needles and applying heat or electrical stimulation at very precise acupuncture points.
Is Acupuncture safe?
When practiced by a licensed, trained acupuncturist, acupuncture is safe and effective, free from adverse or addictive side effects. All our needles are sterile and disposable and completely safe.
How Acupuncture works?
The modern scientific explanation is that needling the acupuncture points stimulates the nervous system to release chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These chemicals will either change the experience of pain, or they will trigger the release of other chemicals and hormones which influence the body's own internal regulating system.
The improved energy and biochemical balance produced by acupuncture, results in stimulating the body`s natural healing abilities, and in promoting physical and emotional well-being.
What about insurance coverage?
More and more insurance companies are including acupuncture treatment in their policies. Some plans that don't normally cover acupuncture will pay for treatments if a physician recommends them. We can verify your insurance coverage prior to treatment.
